Durante os últimos anos, muito se falou sobre o Novo Ensino Médio e as mudanças que ele traria para a Educação Básica. Dentre essas mudanças estão as disciplinas eletivas, que passam a fazer parte da nova grade curricular.
Mas, antes de entendermos o que são as disciplinas eletivas, devemos compreender o contexto geral do Novo Ensino Médio.
Afinal de contas, o que muda de fato? Até que ponto vai a tão alardeada “liberdade do aluno”?
O Novo Ensino Médio já é uma realidade?
Primeiramente, é preciso lembrar que o Novo Ensino Médio deixou de ser um projeto e já se transformou em realidade.
A sua implementação em todas as escolas da rede pública e privada tornou-se obrigatória a partir do início de 2022 e será feita em três etapas:
- Em 2022, a nova modalidade foi implementada apenas no 1º ano do Ensino Médio.
- Em 2023, o modelo passará a abranger o 1º e 2º anos.
- A partir de 2024, os 3 anos do Ensino Médio de todas as escolas brasileiras serão contemplados.
Além disso, para acomodar o novo modelo, as escolas precisarão fazer uma ampliação na sua carga horária: passando para 1.000 horas anuais ainda em 2022 (o equivalente a cinco horas diárias) e chegando a 1.400 até 2024 (o equivalente a sete horas diárias).
Como é a divisão de disciplinas e conteúdos do Novo Ensino Médio?
A divisão da grade curricular do Novo Ensino Médio funcionará da seguinte forma:
- Disciplinas obrigatórias: compreendem matérias como português, matemática e inglês.
- Projeto de vida: componente curricular que tem por objetivo auxiliar o aluno a pensar e decidir os rumos da sua vida profissional.
- Itinerários formativos: conjunto de disciplinas que os alunos poderão escolher para complementar o seu currículo. Entre elas estão: Linguagens e suas tecnologias, Matemática e suas tecnologias, Ciências da Natureza e Ciências Humanas e Sociais. Entenda melhor os itinerários formativos!
Se juntando a esses três elementos e surgindo como o quarto componente da grade curricular do Novo Ensino Médio estão as disciplinas eletivas.
O que são as Disciplinas Eletivas?
Em linhas gerais, as disciplinas eletivas são matérias que os alunos poderão escolher e que não fazem parte do itinerário formativo que ele está seguindo.
Por exemplo, um aluno que esteja seguindo o itinerário de Ciências Humanas poderá escolher uma disciplina eletiva de jogos matemáticos.
Elas seguem a mesma lógica das disciplinas optativas presentes em alguns cursos do Ensino Superior, e são importantes para que o conhecimento do aluno não fique muito restrito.
Geralmente, as disciplinas eletivas são mais curtas, com duração de apenas um semestre. Enquanto as disciplinas obrigatórias, o projeto de vida e os itinerários formativos acompanharão o aluno por toda a jornada do Ensino Médio.
Como criar Disciplinas Eletivas?
Não existe um método único para o momento da implementação das disciplinas eletivas, porém é importante escolher com sabedoria quais serão as disciplinas implementadas na sua escola.
Fatores como infraestrutura, profissionais necessários e interesses dos alunos devem ser levados em conta.
O lado positivo é que a gama de opções de disciplinas eletivas é gigantesca. Segue abaixo alguns exemplos:
